Peace be upon us all,
Coconut is not just an ordinary plant: it is a symbol of resilience, independence, and hope for the Indonesian nation. Behind its towering tree, lies an extraordinary potential that can drive the wheels of national progress from three fundamental aspects: social, health, and economic.
Socially, coconut is the backbone of more than 5.7 million smallholder families in this country. They are not only the guardians of the archipelago’s agrarian heritage, but also the spearhead in ensuring the welfare of rural communities. Every drop of their sweat flows the values of mutual cooperation and resilience that we must maintain together.
In terms of health, coconut is a priceless gift from nature. As a source of healthy fats, protein, fiber, and carbohydrates, coconut is an affordable food solution to combat malnutrition. With the development and innovation of coconut-based products and their derivatives, we can get high added value. And this is a fact that coconut has extraordinary business potential and nature provides everything we need for a healthy life.
In the realm of economy and sustainability, no part of the coconut is wasted. The fruit becomes nutritious food, coconut milk, Desiccated Coconut, to MCT, VCO, or other high-value oleochemical products, from the fiber to produce cocopeat which can be a planting medium or cocofiber as a natural fiber to be used as an insulator, mattress, the shell is processed into activated carbon and even graphene, coconut water is processed into hydro coco, vinegar or nata de coco, the leaves are arranged into works of art, even the tree trunk becomes a building material or furniture, environmentally friendly parquet. This is proof that coconut is a versatile plant that can create a sustainable economic chain. However, this potential will be meaningless without synergy. Roemah Kelapa Indonesia is present as a bridge that unites farmers, industry players, government, and academics. This collaboration is important to optimize coconut processing innovation, strengthen policies that favor farmers, and encourage research based on the real needs of the community.
We invite all parties, both individuals, institutions, and corporations, to support Roemah Kelapa Indonesia’s steps. Every contribution you make will not only help farmers, but also help write a new history: making coconut the driving force of Indonesia’s sustainable future.
Thank you and Wa alaikumussalam Wr. Wb.
